Kristiansund

From Sweden, I am used to play chess in cellars on the outskirts of cities. I have always liked it, but that's maybe since I've had nothing to compare with.
This week I was back where the book project started - in Kristiansund, Norway. The town has less than 20 000 inhabitans, but the chess club is amazingly active. Some junior members visit the club five times a week!
One reason is the centralized clubhouse with two floors and first-rate equipment. Some days ago, a engineer from Scotland looked through the big shop windows and couldn't resist to come by to take pictures. I didn't understand what he said - that's how well I know my native country - but was told that he had never seen a nicer clubhouse.

Yesterday, there was a social evening with one member telling about the chess high school in Oslo, and me signing the book. It was nice to open the package from Quality Chess, and smelling the freshly printed ink.

So now I can tell people that considers to buy the book that it smells good.
There will be books in Lund the upcoming week, see www.lask.se
